One of the ways to keep people motivated is the poetry. It does not really matters that what form of poetry is it. It can be patriotic poetry which can be used to promote the need of freedom or to inspire people to do more for their country and also to tell them that their country have given them a lot and now it’s their turn to do the same.

In Urdu poetry, Islamic poetry can be classified in the same category of Patriotic Poetry, it is just because of the reason that it also motivates people but do that in a real deep sense. It basically deals with the Muslims and the Islamic thoughts which are to be followed by the people. But as the people are so much engrossed in this material world, they have actually forgotten the very soul of Islam and the things that Islam wants from them. This is the motivational type of Islamic poetry where people are encouraged to consider their wrongs.

On the other hand, you can also find the typical Islamic poetry which is written to describe the incidents which have happened during the early days of Islam. Islamic wars, Incidents and many other things have been written in this form of writing. Actually, when written and read in poetry, it sounds more rhythmic hence leaves a greater impact on their readers and listeners. An extension to this poetry is the poetry by Sufi, these are the poets who are considered to be very spiritual and they have conveyed their message in their own poetic way which certainly is commendable. Truly Pakistani poetry is really diverse.
